Rao Nadeem Alam

Rao Nadeem Alam belongs to a village near Faisalabad in Pakistan and grew up in different parts of Pakistan. His early schooling is from Sadiq Public School Bahawalpur; there he passed his O levels in 1996. He moved to Lahore and passed his bachelor’s degree from Government College University Lahore in 2001. Later he moved to Quaid-i-Azam University (QAU) Islamabad. He did his Master’s in Anthropology in 2004 and was registered for M.Phil. in the same university. He was awarded a scholarship by Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan for his PhD. He is enrolled in the Institute of Social and Cultural Anthropology at University of Vienna. His research topic for PhD is “Acculturation and Integration: a case study of Pakistani Muslim Immigrants in Vienna”. He is multi-lingual and has command over Urdu, Punjabi, Siraiki and English.

He has presented in many conferences worldwide. He was part of many National level projects in Pakistan including Project to Improvement Financial Reporting and Auditing (PIFRA-II) for Auditor General of Pakistan (AGPR). He assisted in research reports for ILO and UNICEF. He supervised two teams for a project “State of Democracy in South Asia” to measure Political Barometer in Pakistan, for Pakistan Chapter.
